From aggression to lead pulling, from puppies to rescue dogs, from Chihuahuas to Rottweilers and all crosses in-between, I have experienced all sorts of problem behaviours. Read more about my methods in these testimonials from some of my dog training clients.
We contacted Sally not really knowing what to expect. I was bowled over! Her knowledge and understanding of dogs is amazing, she puts it all in perspective and it’s simple really! We were given the confidence to take back control, and to use a few simple commands to get where we wanted to be.
Living in our house and constantly feeling nervous that he would do something was beginning to take its toll on my mental health and my relationship with my partner.
We feel daunted at the extent of the change we need to make with our dogs, and the bad patterns we had got into, but we are excited at the relationship we are optimistic we will have.
I contacted Sally following a few biting incidents with my 10 month old puppy. This was particularly concerning for me as we have two young daughters in the house and I was beginning to feel nervous around the dog. We needed to change this behaviour but we were unsure how to best go about this.
We thought we were giving him the best, a dog flap to come and go as he pleased, treats, toys, comfy beds and a dog walker three times a week however all this freedom and luxury turned him in to an over anxious and eventually agressive dog.
We adopted Padfoot from Cyprus at the start of the year to become a companion to our King Charles spaniel, not really fully understanding what we were taking on. We knew he would be nervous or anxious but nothing like how we have experienced the last 7 months.
His walks were incredibly stressful and I knew it was time to enlist some help, and I felt very excited when I saw Sally’s videos and read her testimonials.
I’m not going to sugar coat it, but we were a bit shell shocked after our talk with Sally, not because she said anything wrong, quite the opposite, it was just the realisation that we had to make some big changes to OUR behaviour.
Sally's advice was really helpful and insightful. It quickly became clear that we were guilty of humanising our dog, and this was leading to confusion for Suki and a lack of control for us. We had got caught up in all the things we had read and been told about.
It’s only been 7 weeks since we picked up Buster, a 2 year old rescue but the first couple of weeks were difficult. We were naive about what we were taking on after seeing a few friends do the same with little disruption.
Albert was biting, restless, anxious, aggressive on the lead towards other dogs and even some people. Walks were becoming a chore and we were really at our wits end on how to deal with this and thankfully we found Sally.
We contacted Sally when we were at a loss of how to begin to train our new cheeky miniature poodle puppy. It was difficult to know whether we were doing the right thing with her and not making her bad behaviour (biting and growling) worse.
It is in no way an overstatement to say that a week of following Sally’s advice has entirely changed our home and our puppy. He is happier and the growling and snapping we were faced with has gone.
Despite taking Ruby to puppy classes, unfortunately her recall had become pretty poor, she was having times of getting over-excited and would run around like a lunatic and and jump on the furniture and worst of all would try to bite.
Following a deeply informative conversation we now have the tools to do right by Fynn. Within one day we saw immediate results. Sally showed us that in trying to do the right things we were actually doing the wrong things and making Fynn more anxious.
Sally cuts through the confusion of all the different information out there, really helping us understand the behaviour of a dog and how we can do the best for our puppy.
UPDATE: This, all because of a shift in my thinking; I gave myself permission to feel like I knew what I was doing, because (spoiler alert) you DO know what you’re doing when you’re working with Sally. Just be confident in yourself and your dog will believe you.
