The Border Collie Report

Sally and the collies

What can I say? The last 6 months have been a revelation with our little pack of collies. In January I was in tears and saying I would rather deal with a tantrum throwing toddler than a puppy any day. Now he (Sam) and the others are a joy to be with. With Sally’s patient handling of both them and us we have managed to turn what I thought was an impossible situation into a joyous one. Dogs now listen, sit, do not pull on the lead (well hardly) and wait on command. They take turns to pass through the gate by name, play ball and retrieve and most importantly come when you call them! Even Sammy who has the occasional desire to escape his lovely home to explore the delights on the outside world, will come once discovered. Looking sheepish for sure and knowing he has done wrong, but coming none the less. This has been a labour of love and as we progress to training our brood to behave beautifully in the car and go out into the big wide world we thank Sally for her talent and obvious dedication to her work and to making our lives together with that of the dogs more pleasurable and fulfilling.
