Success stories

From aggression to lead pulling, from puppies to rescue dogs, from Chihuahuas to Rottweilers and all crosses in-between, I have experienced all sorts of problem behaviours. Read more about my methods in these testimonials from some of my dog training clients.

Story of a little pack in France

Story of a little pack in France
I was contacted via my website by the owner of a well known stud farm in Normandy France. He asked if I would go to the 360 acre organic stud farm for a week and help him with his nine dogs! Yes - seven pups and their parents - you couldn’t make it up!

Wilf the Spaniel

Wilf the Spaniel
Wilf is turning into a happy and well balanced little dog - having been hyperactive and verging on aggressive.

Raffie the Black Labrador

Raffie the Black Labrador
He had always been a bit nervous of people he didn’t know but this had recently escalated into barking at people out and about. He then started running over to people nowhere near him to chase them (while still barking).

Tommy the Border Collie

A video testimonial from Rosie and Steven, as well as footage from before and after they started working with Sally.

Bear the Doberman x Labrador

Bear the Doberman x Labrador
Not knowing what he had been through before he came to us and feeling sorry for him and his poor start in life, we lavished Bear with loving affection and tried to make his life as comfortable and enriched as possible. He became a joy to be around, so long as it was in the house or garden, but this became his whole world as we can't take him out in public and he is missing out on so much. We knew we still needed help.

Mila the King Charles Spaniel

Mila the King Charles Spaniel
We had got to the point where Mila would want the treat in order to do the “task”, rather than having the treat afterwards as a reward and she wouldn’t listen at all if no cheese or sausage was on offer.

Dora the retired greyhound

Dora the retired greyhound
Some of Sally’s suggestions seemed surprising at first, but it was just a new way of looking at things. When I followed her advice I could see changes in Dora immediately and things have continued to improve.

Sybil the Lurcher

Sybil the Lurcher
We have ditched the merchandise and the molly-coddling and lavishing what us humans believe to be love onto her. SO HARD! We have found that we have had to show real commitment and endurance and the ability to see that it’s us that needs to change.

Uta and her brown Labrador

Uta and her brown Labrador
My dog had been reported to the police for enthusiastically jumping up on someone on several occasions. They were not happy and felt I had no control over my 1 year old, 33kg, brown male Labrador.

Ted and Pippin

Ted and Pippin
We tried different trainers and I researched countless techniques to get the boys in check but nothing seemed to work! Until we found Sally.

Sherlock - nature at her best

Sherlock
We have had numerous trainers, been to countless classes, spent twelve months using a long line, been advised to give high value treats, we tried seemingly everything.

Arya the Chihuaha/Bichon Frise cross

Arya the Chihuaha/Bichon Frise cross
My wife, daughter and I approached Sally as we were struggling with the behaviour of our 6 month old Chihuaha/Bichon Frise cross. We had an initial Zoom consultation with Sally where she explained that she's here to be the voice of the dog, and helped take us back to basics, and give us a framework to work within.

Alfie the English Springer Spaniel

Alfie the English Springer Spaniel
Update 7 weeks after our first Zoom with Sally: His fussy eating has completely stopped, we have changed his pattern and food and now there is no hesitation in eating his dinner in one go. He no longer charges out of his cage which he used to previously. He lies down, we put his lead on and he waits for us to calmly lead him out.

Billy the Labrador

Billy the Labrador
After spending just two hours with Sally I can already start to see positive changes. Was the experience what we expected? No - so different and the results (already!) so much better.

The Three Dogs

The Three Dogs
Now our home is calm and relaxed. We are so pleased and quite amazed how quickly we achieved this.

Ozzy and Dylan – cockapoo brothers

Ozzy and Dylan – cockapoo brothers
It got to the stage where we were feeling overwhelmed with Ozzy and Dylan. It is fair to say that at times we were not enjoying having them as it was a battle with their constant barking indoors and outdoors as well as jumping up, pulling on the lead when out walking and not responding to recall.

Mabel the Sheepdog

Mabel the Sheepdog
I decided to contact Sally Barnes purely as without some form of help I could see no way of changing her behaviour.

Margot the Jug

Margot the Jug
Sally helped us see very clearly where this behaviour stems from, where things have gone wrong, and within moments of us implementing her ground rules and calm assertive methods we began to see a very different dog

Luna the Pointer

Luna the Pointer
Since our session with Sally, I have had the calmest days in over a year with Luna and she is a much happier dog as well which is lovely to see. My only regret is that we didn’t do this sooner!

Maggie the French Bulldog

Maggie the French Bulldog
After a few incidents with strangers and aggressive behaviour at the vets, I had to confront my fears that I had a dangerous angry little dog on my hands. I was starting to feel that I was losing control and was actually scared she might bite me, my children or a stranger.
