After purchasing an adorable black and white Alaskan Malamute, whom hubby promptly named Dave (well I suppose it is shorter than Platinum Paws Alaskan Star!) we decided to do the right thing and take him to puppy classes. Unfortunately he didn't take to group lessons, as he was too interested in playing with the other, much smaller pups. After going to work with bruises up my arms and following a recommendation from the puppy class leader, realising something had to be done, we contacted Sally.
I am pleased to say we are making great progress and Dave (Davey to his mom) is becoming a much calmer and manageable dog. We knew he was going to be a bruiser ( in the size sense) as his dad is nine and a half stone, but at only nine months old, he is getting bigger by the day and we still have another nine months before he is fully grown. We are currently working on the basics to set some ground rules, to enable him to have the freedom he needs to run around off the lead, without terrorising other dogs or their owners. Little do they know he is as soft as a brush really.
Progress is being made on a daily basis and after three sessions, with Sally's expertise, enthusiasm and encouragement we are learning to be more assertive to achieve our goals and to have an obedient, devoted and most importantly, happy doggy. Above all, Sally's words of wisdom inject us with the hope and belief our goals can be achieved ... Crufts here we come.
