Diesel and Zeba the Golden Retrievers

Diesel and Zeba the Golden Retrievers

I rescued a 14 month old Golden Retriever called Zeba from Cork, Ireland, who has had 3 homes in her very short life through no fault of her own. My eight year old Golden Retriever Diesel had lost his 'brother' Max in March 2015 and was pining for some canine company. Zeba and Diesel have become inseparable and are 'my world' and it filled me with happiness to think Zeba had finally found her 'forever' home. I am totally smitten with the pair of them.

After 5 weeks as part of the family, Zeba started chasing cars, people and cyclists, although she always pulled on the lead since we first had her. Not only was she a danger to herself but she was a danger to other people - and in stark reality she could be killed or kill someone by her actions.

I was at the end of my tether realising I needed to help her and was fortunate to discover Sally's website. After reading the testimonials I called Sally for help. After a lengthy conversation with Sally her empathy, warmth and understanding shone through and put my mind at rest. On her first visit Sally met Zeba and within the first ten minutes of the visit had Zeba walking past cars, lorries, and people (even the postman!) with no inclination to chase them, which absolutely blew me away. Sally and my dog were working in tandem and she made her look like a Crufts obedience champion! I have never witnessed anything so amazing in my life and I am not sure whether I shed tears of joy or relief at what Sally had achieved in such a short timescale. To be honest I did not think she could achieve the impossible, which was the situation I found myself in. To the naked eye you would have thought Sally and Zeba had been working together for years.

There is no doubt in my mind that Sally has been blessed with this unique gift of talking to the animals. She is a  joy to work with and it is a privilege to be in her company. Sally is an inspiration. My parents and I are looking forward very much to the next visit and to continue our learning to be the 'pack leader'.

The behaviour of Sally's own dogs are a credit to her. I have never seen such highly trained dogs even in the Police and Sally talks to them by using letters not words - truly amazing!

Sally is definitely the World's Greatest Dog Whisperer!
