Meeko is a 14 month old German Shepherd who we've had from a puppy. We've taken him to puppy training classes since he was 10 weeks old but we've still been struggling with behavioural issues including pulling on the lead, barking at other dogs, guarding/jumping up at the front door and separation anxiety. We've always thought this was down to a nervous nature, and nothing I was trying seemed to be helping the situation.
I contacted Sally not really knowing what to expect, but knowing that I really needed some help and hoped for the best. What I got from our session was so much more than I'd hoped for!
In a nutshell, Sally is an interpreter and a teacher. She is able to translate how your dog is reading your behaviour and teach you how to communicate healthily so your dog cannot question how you want it to behave or who is in charge.
Ways that I was interacting with Meeko that seemed insignificant to me were speaking volumes to him, and all this time I have been encouraging his behaviour. His 'nervous nature' was not that at all, but actually a dominant dog that I had been spoiling. I had completely misread the situation and misunderstood my dog. It was a tough realisation, but it has completely opened my eyes.
I never thought that in just a few hours I would see my dog walking calmly on the lead or waiting patiently as I walked through doors. But that's what has happened and I feel so relieved and excited to continue on with the training!
If your sitting on the fence about whether you think Sally can help you, she can!
Thank you Sally!
