The little Terrier

The little Terrier plus other dog

Another successful day!

At our last session with Sally we took our little terrier to a basketball court (which is located on a field in the middle of two very busy roads) so that we could do some work with him off lead. Now, in the past this little terrier would have the attention span of a nat! For example, if he saw children, a bus, people on bicycles this dog would have ran after them and not come back to us when called. He would do his own thing completely.

We have a very different dog today... At the beginning we walked as a pack around the basketball court, as the terrier began to wander off Sally would correct him, he stopped immediately in his tracks, we turned and he followed. He worked it out very quickly that he is not to leave the pack. We then left the enclosed basketball court and continued this on the field. I was extremely nervous because both roads are so busy. (How could we keep him safe? I was asking myself). We stayed together and Sally corrected the terrier as soon as he left the pack to sniff grass. Lots of distractions were going on around us the whole time. Children passed, people on bicycles went by... he never left our sides!

Sally you are a genius and I love it when you come to visit. You have provided us with the tools and knowledge so that both Mike and I can feel confident and our terrier has confidence and trust in us once again.

All the best,

Sind & Mike

A happy home once again

Both the dogs are really well.

Over time we have gradually allowed them in the same room together and now we are at the stage where they are walking around the house together, laying on the same bed, even in the narrow hall way and nothing has kicked off between them. The little brown and black dog is such a well behaved dog now. He tries to push his luck at times, but he is quickly corrected and reminded of his place. We regularly let him off the lead and he walks with the pack with hardly any corrections.

I can't thank you enough for helping us with the dogs. I never thought I would be able to trust the little brown dog again after he attacked the white and brown dog. We have a happy home once again and it is all thanks to you.
