Ruby the British Bull Dog

Ruby the British Bull Dog

After being at my wits end with my 10mth old bulldog Ruby I thought that seeking out a dog behaviourist could give me hope.

I found Sally and she had an excellent website with some brilliant success stories so decided to give her a call. She answered straight away and after giving her a brief history, Sally agreed to help and we arranged a FaceTime call. (Couldn’t see her in person as currently in lockdown due to the Coronavirus).

Despite taking Ruby to puppy classes, unfortunately her recall had become pretty poor, she was having times of getting over-excited and would run around like a lunatic and and jump on the furniture and worst of all would try to bite. Also, there was a problem of her wetting the bed at night and sometimes when we left her home alone. I was so fed up of continually washing her bed/blankets. (Ruby unfortunately got a urine infection about two months ago and developed stones in her bladder which she had to have surgery for. So we were giving her the benefit of the doubt as was unsure if this was part of the problem).

Sally suggested that it may be because she’s being dominant. We had literally tried EVERYTHING to try and resolve this problem.

After talking on the phone to Sally I was feeling excited about our forthcoming FaceTime call and felt that now there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

Sally wanted both myself and my husband to be involved in the FaceTime call. We both felt excited but also a little nervous.

Well, all I can say, is that Sally was brilliant. She was open and honest with us and her expertise shone through. She spent nearly two hours with us. Amazing!

Everything she said made sense and basically we are now trying to be the pack leaders and not the other way round.

Sally wanted to see Ruby, her crate, her toys and asked about her food and general routine. She wanted to see her bed and blankets.

Sally talked us through a lot of things and after the call we felt exhausted (so much to process) but also positive that with her help we could turn things around.

She sent us some information that we were able to print out. It’s going to be hard work but we are so determined to get this right.

After taking Sally’s advice, we had amazing results the next morning and guess what, Ruby was dry!  We were thrilled.

Going to keep up the hard work and arrange another FaceTime call with Sally. Onwards and upwards!

I am so grateful to have found you and feel so positive now that you can help us turn Ruby around. Thank you so much.
