Todd the Chihuahua

Todd the Chihuahua

Where do we start with our dog Todd!

With our 7 year old Chihuahua has been 7 years of stress and anxiety that comes with owning an anxious, dominating and aggressive dog. Two dog trainers later I gave up the battle with him, nothing was working he was still biting, lunging and attacking people and dogs. Even people he knows. This little dog carried the whole world on his shoulders because he felt he had to and no one to help him.

Living in our house and constantly feeling nervous that he would do something was beginning to take its toll on my mental health and my relationship with my partner.

After almost making the decision to endure the horrific last visit to the vets I decided enough is enough and found Sally on Google.

I couldn’t quite believe that my dog could treat me and other people I love this way after the wonderful life I gave him.

Starting our first call with Sally we realised that we were not treating Todd the way he needed to be treated, he was my fur baby, my everything. That actually I was giving him things he did not need, allowing him to behave this way as he knew no different.

Things were about to change. Through the tools that Sally gave us began weeks of extreme hard work, lots of tears (as I felt I was being cruel, even though I wasn’t) it was hands down the hardest thing I have ever done. But you know what? I knew deep down I HAD to do this otherwise he would no longer be in my life. This mentality keep me going. There were times where I would want to give up because I wasn’t getting immediate results. But please remember my dog has been this way for 7 YEARS. It was always going to take hard work and determination to change his and our lives.

We are now almost at week 3, after a few tweaks to his training we are at a stage where we are seeing changes, and positive ones. Changes that are giving me confidence that this was the best decision I’ve made in years. Don’t get me wrong you need to be 100% in this for it to work, otherwise it won’t. Sally is a fantastic teacher, brilliant listener, Almost a life coach. She has been there for us throughout the whole process, when we had slip ups or situations we weren’t sure how to over come she was on the end of the phone happy to help us.

If you are like me and are/were at the end of your tether and don’t know what else to do please just call Sally and let her help you. It will change your life. No more wasting time being upset or depressed because of your dog. Take control and be the pack leader your dog deserves. Thankyou Sally you really are a dog queen.

I will try to update on here as we move on with our rehabilitation.
